Maintains Perfect Draft Under All Conditions!

The EXHAUSTO Modulating Over-Draft Damper System (MODS) is used to control the air flow into a mechanical room when the venting system generates more draft than the heating equipment needs to operate efficiently.

The MODS is typically used as an "on-demand" chimney draft control system for an individual boiler or for multiple boiler installations. The MODS is individually designed and supplied as a completely automatic system, although additional components may be used as needed (please note that boilers, wiring and other electrical components are not included). Click on an individual EXHAUSTO component above for more information. In addition, the EBC 30 integrated pressure control can also be integrated with an EXHAUSTO CASI or CASV Chimney Automation Systems and the MCAS (Mechanical Combustion Air Supply) system for even more effective control

MODS Basic Sequence of Operation
  1. When the  control receives a call for heat, it opens the improved stainless steel damper (powered by a high-speed brushless DC motor) completely.
  2. After a pre-programmed purge time to allow the venting system to clear itself, the EBC 30 allows the heating appliance's burners to fire (adequate draft must be achieved within thirty seconds or the appliance will be shut down).
  3. Once the draft reaches a pre-programmed setpoint, the EBC 30 adjusts the damper continuously to maintain the proper draft. If more calls for heat are received, the MDF will be opened further to accommodate the additional appliances.
  4. When the last appliance shuts down, the damper will stay partly open in the post-purge mode for a preset time to allow the venting system to clear itself of any remaining byproducts of combustion.
  5. In the event of a mechanical malfunction or power failure, the entire system will be shut down. An emergency function will determine if there is enough draft for the appliances to operate safely, otherwise, they will be shut down as well.
