The EXHAUSTO EBC 14 Modulating Pressure Control system is used with a single gas-fired heating appliance to increase its efficient use of fuel by monitoring and maintaining the optimal air pressure in the mechanical room where the appliance is operating.
 
The EBC 14 accomplishes this by automatically adjusting the speed of the combustion air supply fan. 
 
The EBC 14 system consists of a control box, an XTP sensor, and an outdoor pressure sensor. The XTP sensor monitors the air pressure inside the mechanical room and out of doors via the outdoor pressure probe mounted on a roof or exterior wall. The control box uses this differential information to increase or decrease the combustion air supply fan speed as required. It can be used to control a fan directly or indirectly via a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD).
 
The EBC 14 system is also interlocked with the heating appliance so a call for heat will automatically trigger it to start the combustion air supply fans. Once an adequate air supply pressure has been established in the mechanical room, the heating appliance will be allowed to began operating. An additional safety function shuts down the appliance should the air supply pressure drop excessively.
 
The EBC control can also used as part of the EXHAUSTO Mechanical Dryer Venting System (MDVS) to control the duct pressure in a commercial or institutional laundry installation to allow more efficient clothes drying.
